des FILLES désir at Kunstpalast Düsseldorf

Posted by Adrian-Constantin Stoica on

As part of the exhibition „Spardas Junge Nacht“ we exhibited three dresses in the Engels-Foyer, titled Mode Foyer for that format at the Kunstpalast museum in Düsseldorf.
Alongside ACCEPTANCE LETTER, Strehlow, DZHUS and Van Roth we showcased pieces from C002 - Flowers of Ordinary and C003 - Flowers II.

As the designer of des FILLES désir and curator of the exhibition, I focused on the idea of showcasing a snapshot of the zeitgeist that flows through the German landscape of independent fashion design.

Strehlow’s Marion Strehlow is from Düsseldorf and works and lives in the city, Theresa Kliebisch of Van Roth works and lives in Hamburg, Irina Dzhus from DZHUS, who is actually from Kiev, works and lives in Warsaw and showcases in Berlin, while ACCEPTANCE LETTER's Jakeyoung Shim from South Korea works and lives in Berlin. As Adrian Stoica from des FILLES désir I am a designer from Romania myself and I live and work in Düsseldorf and showcase in Berlin, too.

The common denominator for all of the brands and designers mentioned is a bold identity reflected in the presented pieces.  I am most happy and grateful to have joined this group. We succeeded to activate Düsseldorf's affiliation with fashion design, as this city remains to this day one Germany's most important fashion hubs.
